It is anticipated that in an undefined future Autonomy will be a game changer in human daily life, with a worldwide impact and implications in all sectors of human activities and on the security environment. As pointed out in the World Economic Forum Global Risks Report 2017, “the weaponization of AI will represent a paradigm shift in the way wars are fought, with profound consequences for international security and stability. Autonomous weapons systems will have an impact on strategic stability.”
